Hormone Test Low hormone levels (like DHEA and Testosterone) can make it very hard to lose weight. The key to much of how we really feel is governed by the balance of our hormones. When our hormones are balanced we feel energized, loving, nurturing, soulful and when our hormones are not balanced well we feel flat, tired, burned out, depressed, you hold onto body fat and you just don’t feel right.
Stress Recovery Test your body can not burn fat if your body is in a stressed state. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is one method being used to evaluate the stress of the athlete and determine if they are in a more sympathetic or parasympathetic state, which would then guide the training program for that day. When HRV is low it suggest sympathetic dominance, high stress, and a potentially over trained state. Exercising will only lead to further stress and NO WEIGHT LOSS. YES, YOU MAY HAVE TO STOP EXERCISE TO LOSE WEIGHT.
Nutritional Blood Test to determine if you have hidden food in-tolerances which are causing your body to be in a stressed state. We will do a blood test that measures the body’s cellular response to different foods, food additives and colorings, molds and environmental conditions. How do I make a consultation?
We recommend first getting a consultation and basic evaluation. In this visit Dr Banas will talk with you about your past history and some testing (Heart Rate Stress Recovery Test, Adrenal Fatigue Test, Fitness Level, Measure the amount of Body Fat, Water, Muscle Mass Test, Blood Pressure and also Determine your Metabolic Age (How old is your metabolism? A 25 year old that has a metabolism of a 50 year old is a BAD THING.)
After this is done you and Dr Jeff will sit down a talk about your specific body type, your specific metabolism and what further testing would be best to generate an effective weight loss or sports performance program.
What if I live far from Dr. Banas' Office?
We can usually get most of this testing and consultation done in a single day. Then you and Dr Jeff can continue the program over the phone, via Skype, over by email. We are located about 20 min for Sky Harbor Airport and there plenty hotels and things for your family to do in the area.

Even though this body type is over weight, this type is usually suffering from malnutrition. This is because the foods they are taking in a poor source of nutrition which are deficient in healthy vitamins and minerals (fast foods, chips, sodas).Overweight and Not Exercising
The poor quality of the foods and the lack of exercise has a damaging affect on hormone levels. Common symptoms of hormone levels not at an optimal state include: weight gain, feeling tired all the time, poor sex drive, depression, among many others. Hormone testing allows us to KNOW how the body’s hormones are functioning.
This type also has food cravings (salty foods, sweets, sodas). The deficiency healthy nutrients are what are usually causing many of the food cravings. These cravings for foods are actually not cravings for FOOD. They are cravings for good nutrition, healthy vitamins and minerals.
For example, you eat a bagel (high in calories, low in nutritional value) the body gets a little nutrition in the form of vitamins and minerals, but not enough, so it craves more nutrition, but then again, you eat another nutritional dense food, so the cycle of cravings continue.
With this Metabolic Pattern we work in three phases. The last thing you want to do with this metabolic pattern is jump right into dieting and exercising. In the first phase of this body type we make only ONE CHANGE. We begin adding into your diet foods that are high in nutrition, the foods your current diet is missing. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AVOID ANYTHING OR CUT ANYTHING OUT OF YOUR DIET.
Why is this? Because we want to start getting you healthy immediately. Adding to nutritious foods and nutrients you are missing will
reduce the cravings in the first few weeks. What we typically do with this body type is simply add nutritious food to their diet for the first few weeks. WE TAKE NOTHING AWAY.
It becomes overwhelming to suddenly take away foods that they are used to eating or enjoy eating. It also becomes overwhelming to suddenly have this Metabolic Pattern exercising. When we add good nutrition into your diet you be more satisfied and less hungry, especially for junk foods and sweets.
As more health is created, because of the added good nutrition, will move into phase 2 of this program. This is when will work on
reducing the bad foods, however by now you’ll have less cravings for the bad foods and your energy be will much higher.

Skinny Fat Body Type
This type of body type and metabolic type is then in some places, yet fat in other areas of the body. Males may have skinny arms; skinny
Legs, a lean neck and face, but still have a pot body and excess belly fat. Women may have a thin torso, neck and arms yet still have
fat around the butt region, hips and thighs. They might appear skinny, but they are ashamed to show their arms because of the sagging a fat and lose skin.
This type of body type may actually have fairly decent nutrition, or may even be a vegetarian or close to vegetarian, yet they are still unable to lose weight. This body type is usually not doing much, or any strength training, exercising at a heart rate too high for fat loss, is stressed out due to too much high heart rate exercise and may also have a stressful lifestyle. This body type is usually deficient in some nutrients and especially protein and the hormone levels are not at the optimal levels.

This metabolic pattern and body type is usually really stressed out and it show on the Stress and Recovery Test. The Adrenal Stress Test

is usually positive. This body type if often exercising a lot but not losing weight. The common reason is because they a usually exercising at a heart rate that is TOO HIGH. 1) Full Supervision in our office

Patients in this program come to our office 3 times a week for supervised exercises,review of food journal, weight in and consultation on diet, exercise and lifestyle management. Over the course of the next few months, we are going to work it you and teach you how to lose weight and get healthy.
Personal training to help you learn. No matter what age you are, no matter what injury you have, we can ALWAYS find a way to help you exercise.
The cost is $500 for the first month, which includes all of the testing and the first months of supervised exercises and consultation (at our office). $300 a month after the first month. 3 month commitment required.
Any supplements that are recommended can be bought at local health food stores, we are not going to try to be selling you supplements.
2) Full Supervision at your own home.
Dr Banas will visit you at your home and perform: Adrenal Stress Test, Stress and Recovery Heart Rate Variability Test (HRV), Body Fat Test, Metabolic Age Test, Metabolic Exercise or Walking Test, Adrenal Stress Test, Body Fat and Water Retention Test, Body Measurements, referral to lab for Hormone Hormone Test.
Dr Banas will then visit with you at your home every two weeks to monitor your nutrition and exercise progress. On of Dr Jeff’s staff will come to your home as a personal trainer and supervise your exercises 3 times a week. Weight in and consultation on diet, exercise and lifestyle management all in the privary of your own home. Over the course of the next few months, we are going to work it you and teach you how to lose weight and get healthy.
No matter what age you are, no matter what injury you have, we can ALWAYS find a way to help you exercise. This is the same program we do in our office except we bring everything to you.
The cost is $750 for the first month, which includes all of the testing and the first months of supervised exercises and consultation (at our office). $600 a month after the first month. 3 month commitment required.
Any supplements that are recommended can be bought at local health food stores, we are not going to try to be selling you supplements.
3) Partial Supervision in our office
The testing is the same as the full supervision. The only thing that is different here is that you will only be coming into our office once a week for weigh ins and review of food journals.
Each week you will been give a new exercise program to file based on your testing and weekly progress and various “home work assignments” to improve your nutrition needs. You can call, or e-mail Dr Jeff anytime you have a questions. You will be doing most of your exercising on your own and you will be e-mailing Dr Jeff your food journal everyday.
Cost: $400 first month which includes all the testing, then $200 each month after. 3 month commitment required.
Nutritional Blood Testing can be added to any of the programs. The cost depends of how many foods are being tested.
4) Metabolic Testing, Hormone Review, Nutritional Blood Test and 6 wks of follow up care to assure you understand all your results and your food and exercise plan:
