What is a Sports Chiropractor?

There are a lot of chiropractors claiming to be "a sports chiropractor." However, the The Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) is the only accreditation existing in the chiropractic profession that provides a uniform standard that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has competency in sports medicine.

A Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), is a postgraduate degree a Doctor of Chiropractic can receive after completing a 120 hour post-doctoral program and passing the comprehensive written examination. The CCSP program's instruction is specific to physical fitness, enhancing physical performance, evaluation, prevention, and rehabilitation treatment of sports injuries.
Dr. Banas is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification Commission.

The CSCS certification is designed for professionals who design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for athletes in a team setting. The CSCS program was established in 1985 as a way of identifying individuals who possess the knowledge and skills needed to competently train athletes, and is the only strength and conditioning credential that has been nationally accredited since 1993.
To earn national accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the NSCA Certification Commission demonstrated the ability to administer examinations that effectively discriminate between qualified and unqualified individuals
